We just returned from the annual Viking Dealer Meeting in New Gretna, NJ where we had Tuesday afternoon to spend onboard, reviewing the layout and features. View of the bow shows the 8' plus freeboard forward.
Like her larger siblings, the 66 cockpit offers comfortable mezzanine seating for observing the action in the cockpit without getting in the way. Large freezer compartments under the seating allow for extended cruising capability or bait storage. Cockpit sole and transom fishbox livewells are available, and large sole dunnage and fish boxes are standard. Flybridge seating includes three helm seats, port and starboard bench seating, and forward console seat.
Forward on the bridge is a large freezer, as standard equipment. Fresh water faucet and sink are to port, with matching drink box to starboard. Excellent storage capability under bench and console seats.
Spacious and comfortable interior layout with four staterooms standard. Master stateroom to port features athwart berth with large hanging lockers, plenty of drawer storage, and ensuite head. VIP forward is available with island queen berth or crossover bunks. Starboard stateroom has over and under bunks, and like the forward stateroom has its own head and stall shower. Crew stateroom is aft to starboard and is equally elegant, with roomy bunks and spacious head and shower. An engine room access door allows alternate entry for the crew from the cockpit. There are too many salon, dinette, and galley features to review now, but I should point out the popular, optional day head, conveniently located just inside the electrically operated salon door.
